Healthy Granola Bars - TastyPlanner.com
Chef: Warmfeather
I made over the granola bars posted by Seth Meranda to be totally healthy. No dairy, no gluten just whole grain goodness!
Extra chewy granola bars. You can make them your own by picking different ingredients to add in! Try using any combination of miniature chocolate chips, sunflower seeds, raisins, chopped dried fruits, candy-coated chocolate pieces, chopped nuts, etc.
Ingredients
4 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 cup rolled oat flour (or other whole grain, gluten free flour)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon pure vanilla
2/3 cup grapeseed oil(or other healthy oil of choice)
1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup Agave Nectar(or other unrefined sugar of choice)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease one 9×13 inch pan.
In a large mixing bowl combine the oats, flour, baking soda, vanilla, oil, honey and sweetener. Stir in the raisins, nuts etc.
Lightly press mixture into the prepared pan(note: make sure pan has sides on it, not a flat cookie sheet, as mixture will run over!). Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes then cut into bars. Let bars cool completely in pan before removing or serving.
